I’m in LOVE…. with CADILLAC (and the dude in the ad)! As a car guy… well… Cadillacs just have never been “my thing.” But, I’d buy one JUST because of this ad that ran during the Olympics last night. This ad speaks my language… an unabashed non-apology for who we are as AMERICA.
I’ve long been sickened by the American apologists who self-flagellate and prostrate themselves before world’s kangaroo court of opinion… presumptuously on OUR BEHALF. That’s bullshit! Commercial video after the jump…
Update: It appears the politically-correct won the day, and the video has been scrubbed by Cadillac from the web. I can’t find it anywhere now. A shame. (Scratch that… found a copy! Though you’ll have to skip an ad to watch the ad.) Just in case… Here is the transcript from the ad:
A hat tip to Cadillac for saying it like it IS! We ARE #1. Anyone can accomplish anything in America. We are the most powerful, most prosperous, and most free country on the planet. And, we should NEVER apologize for it. If I piss anyone off for saying it, so be it. If you can do better, bring it on.
Recently, a certain political faction here in the U.S. has argued that “work is bad.” They’ve tried to spin the idea that job loss is a “good thing!” This way, those people are not victims of “job lock.” JOB LOCK! One senator suggested that the unemployed will now be able to stay home and cook dinner. Who’s paying for the food? I wish I was making this shit up. Instead of working for a living, people can VOTE for a living.
Way to go, Cadillac! American Exceptionalism is a GOOD THING! And, I dare say that is the BEST commercial I’ve ever seen. Love the “n’est-ce pas” jab at the end

LOL….dang SEO spammer. Mike to delete in 3….2….1
PS: Go America!!!
Done. 😀
We are Americans. Things so many take for granted or are supposedly ashamed of are due to a work ethic unlike anywhere else in the world.
This administration is now selling the message that WORK IS BAD so if your hours are cut…that’s a GOOD thing. Bullshit. When we don’t work as much we lose our sense of self and our understanding that we are given equality of opportunity, NOT equality of CONDITION.
Cadillac apparently nailed this point in a commercial I’d not seen until Mike posted it.
We are America. That’s not something to be ashamed of. It’s to be celebrated. Yes, we can help pull our neighbors and neighboring countries up by their bootstraps, but THEY can do it too with hard work and perseverance and the knowledge that success does NOT come overnight! Hard work pays off. Denial of this fact spells the death of our once great country.
The democrats prey on getting people to vote based on emotions, rather than facts. That, alone, will make it very difficult to win back this country. ObamaCare not being NEARLY fully implemented is intentional. Were Americans en masse able to see NOW what’s coming down the pipe and what they either turn a blind eye towards or simply don’t understand this piece of legislation would already be dead.
Right on, Roy! 🙂
Yes it’s good to hear a little unabashed patriotism for a change. But… keep in mind Cadillac is part of GM. General Motors had no qualms regarding taking our tax dollars in the form of an obama bailout. My next new car will be a Ford.
I totally agree, Barnslayer, and give Ford big points for not taking the bailout. But, I still LOVE this ad by GM. I like the message. I like the swagger. I love the attitude. I wanted to stand up and salute.
If only the guy had gotten in the car with a tumbler of Early Times! Lol.
Once again Mike you are spot on. It is sad that we are forgetting who we are as a people and what made us a great nation. Truly the way to defeat us is from within and I fear that is exactly what is being done (attempted) at the present time by a certain faction. The United States is still a GREAT country!
I agree. It is! But, oftentimes lately, I wonder where we are headed.
Hi Mike, I always enjoy your Dental Warrior commentaries and opening my eyes to a lot of great ideas. I love that commercial!! I am disgusted by the people who are apologetic about the USA.It seems to be a part of this political correctness bullshit that has weaved its way into our not speaking our minds. There’s a classic Charlie Daniels song called “God Bless America Again”.It’s worth a listen.Very patriotic and right on. I want to restore the USA to a proud nation with solid work ethics, not this bullshit entitlement crap. Not many have the sentiment I grew up with,Civic and National Pride and that’s how you conduct yourself. Let’s bring it back strong!! Alvaro
Things are not looking good. Yet, I remain cautiously optimistic.
My grand-father used to drive a Cadillac Broughm.
And my father followed until he switched to Mercedes in the 70’s;
and then to Honda’s in the 80’s.
Cadillac was the big status car of its age.
In Southern California, I hardly see a Cadillac anymore.
Mostly I see imported luxury cars.
I ride a bike.
Times change, n’est ce pas?
Mais oui! 😉
We see all types of cars in in south Florida from Bugattis to Ferraris to Aston Martins to Bentleys to Maseratis, every German and Japanese luxury line, and plenty of Cadillacs, too. The Cadillac “V” series (as in CTS-V) are pretty hot performing cars.
Hi Mike. As a Canadian I must say that we love having you as our neighbours. Sometimes you are loud and a bit brash but you are also generous, friendly and hardworking. Be proud of who you are and what you have accomplished. The world needs more countries that are willing to stand for their values of freedom, equality, and truthfulness.
Thanks, Derek! I love Canada and Canadians. Of course, I’m a bit biased since I’m “half-Canadian.” My mother was from St. John, New Brunswick. 🙂
