Why You Shouldn’t Carry a Gun Every Day… Three Good Reasons.

Click here to read this fantastic article!I don’t often post links to other blogs here.  But, this article on The Truth About Guns is so good (in my opinion), it’s worth sharing.  I know a lot of people who are licensed to carry concealed that do not actually carry often… or at all.  I’d bet a majority virtually never carry.

This article by my friend, Robert Farago, is clever in that it pulls double-duty.  First, it does a great job of addressing the concerns of those people who have considered carrying a concealed weapon but just haven’t found a way to do it conveniently… or, they just aren’t convinced it’s “needed.”

Secondly, the article is a great essay that answers the concerns of those people who are reflexively opposed to concealed carry, are frightened by the concept, or simply don’t understand the “need.”

Who needs guns when you have clean teeth?

  2. Self-defense is a sovereign right, but no, you don’t need to carry a gun everywhere you go. I spend most of my time in my office and my home, which are both very secure, so there is no need for me to have a gun all the time.

Many people don’t realize the bulk a gun really has and how clumsy and tiring it really is to carry around.

      Hi Andrew,

      Thanks for your comments.

You don’t need a gun, until you do. 🙂

This can be overcome quite easily with the right carry system. The right gun. The right holster. The right belt. The right clothing. Get it all right, and it’s no different than wearing a watch or carrying a wallet. 🙂

Andrew, are you perhaps a Government employee? Maybe protected by other’s who have guns? In that case you are likely (not for sure, but likely) correct that you are somewhat secure.
The “sheep” with the “Sheep Dogs” are in a similar situation. Occasionally however, a sheep is lost to the “wolves”. I prefer to know that being a “Sheep Dog” my chances of being lost to a “Wolf” are significantly less. Thankfully, we have the freedom still to make a choice, Wolf, Sheep or Sheep Dog.
