Do I need to remind you of the much promised FN 5.7 review!!! 🙂

The S&W M&P 15-22 is my favorite gun. It is cheap to shoot and the paper targets don’t care I am not shooting a .223 at them. The 15-22 is the one rifle I ALWAYS take to the outdoor range. I read good things about the Ruger. I have the S&W 22a, Ruger Mark 2 and Ruger 22/45 with threaded barrel waiting for a supressor.

The Ruger Mark II is known to be a very fine .22 pistol. But, one mark (no pun intended) against it is that it is reportedly very difficult to field strip. But, they sure are pretty!

The SR22 will have a threaded barrel available for it – “coming soon” they say.

I agree the M&P 15-22 is really hard to beat as an all-around fun rifle.

.22 IS a lot of fun to shoot. That is what I tend to use around the acreage here for fun.

I like that AR 15 looking rifle. I have a Beretta .22 that’s very cool, occasional problems w/ ejected casings jamming, but cool to shoot. Also the Ruger .22 rifle is great and fun. My wife’s not afraid(not too much anyways) to shoot it. Fun!! I’ve also got a .38 that to me has a lot of kick/recoil. It has a wood grip which isn’t the most comfortable(and ammo get expensive). May increase my collection sometime:)

Yes… many semi-auto .22-LR pistols are known to be finicky with ammo and have feeding and/or ejection issues. So far, the SR22 seems to be nearly flawless for me and many other users.

Incidentally, the M&P 15-22 doesn’t just LOOK like an AR15. It is nearly identical except for missing the “forward assist” button (not needed for .22LR). You can even drop in aftermarket AR15 trigger groups with the 15-22.

I’ve got a couple of browning 22s that I absolutely love. The Buckmark is crisp and accurate, easy to shoot well. And the 1911 compact is light weight and so comfortable to use. The slide is easy to pull. A lot of advantages for a new shooter that make Brownings less intimidating than other makes.

I considered getting a Ruger Mark III or Browning Buckmark for years, and am now very glad that I waited. The new Smith & Wesson Victory .22 is everything I wished the Ruger and Buckmark were, and at a very good price. Just picked one up this week, and couldn’t be happier with it. Awesome trigger, easy takedown, super customizable. Just need to watch for upper loosening with the easy-takedown Allen screw, and purple loc-tight fixes that.

Cool! I wasn’t familiar with the Cooey Ace. Googled it. Looks like a neat bolt-action!

For .22 rifles I have a Remington 514, Marlin Model 25, Marlin Model XT -22TR, Henry Golden Boy and Henry Classic Model H001. For .22 handguns I have a Ruger MK III standard, a Ruger MK IV 22/45 with reflex red/green dot and a Heritage .22/.22 mag. Many autos can be finicky with ammo, shooting dirty and temperature which can interfer with the fun of a young/new shooter, but, you can hardly beat the Remingtom 552 Speedmaster for versatility and reliability. But the Ruger 10/22 is by far Americas favorite and a fine gun!
